Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 August 2026
The short version
You can browse the whole map without an account, and we don't track you. If you choose to submit a place or event, we store your email address so we can contact you about that submission and prevent abuse — nothing else. Your identity is never shown on a listing. We don't sell data, run ads, or use cross-site tracking.
Who we are
Acid Friendly is a community harm-reduction project that publishes a map of spaces, events, and support services. This policy explains what we collect and why. Questions go to hello@acidfriendly.com.
What we collect
If you only browse
Nothing that identifies you. No account is required to view the map, and we do not build a profile of you. Our infrastructure providers process standard technical request data (such as IP address) in order to serve the app securely; we do not use it to identify or track individuals.
If you submit a listing
- Your email address — used to sign you in with a one-time link, to reply about your submission, and to prevent spam and abuse. We do not require a password, a name, or a phone number.
- The content you submit — the name, description, category, tags, location, dates, and any images you provide.
Location
The app does not track where you are. If you use an optional control to centre the map on your position, that happens on your device and the result is not sent to us or stored. Locations on the map describe listings, not users — and listings marked as a general area are deliberately shown as an approximate zone rather than an exact address.
What becomes public
Approved listings are public: their name, description, category, tags, images, dates, and location (exact or approximate, as submitted). The identity of the person who submitted a listing is never published — we keep that association internally only, for moderation.
Why we're allowed to hold this
We process your email address to provide a service you asked for (submitting and managing a listing) and to protect the service from abuse. You can withdraw at any time by asking us to delete your account and submissions.
Who else touches your data
We keep the list of processors as short as possible. Our database, authentication, and file storage run on Supabase (infrastructure hosted in the European Union), which processes this data on our behalf. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers. We may disclose information if we are legally required to.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep submission data for as long as the listing is live, and account emails for as long as the account exists. Write to hello@acidfriendly.com to request a copy of your data, correction of it, or deletion of your account and submissions, and we'll act on it promptly. Deleting your account does not automatically remove already-approved public listings, but you can ask us to remove those too.
Age
Acid Friendly is for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top and, where the change affects submitters, notify them by email.
